Learn how to make homemade bath salts to detox and reset with a mood-boosting essential oil bath salt recipe!

We’ve begun the frustrating tug-of-war between winter and spring here in the South.

My emotions run high on days when I can almost picture the grass turning green again, the first irises pushing through the soil, and the world waking up, under the sun’s warmth. Then, just as quickly, my emotions crash when the skies turn gray, and the wind blusters again, reminding me winter’s not finished yet.

It’s a TUG and PULL that leaves me craving a RESET—something to shake off the heaviness of winter and bring back my spark. I want to feel refreshed and recharged.

Why Soak In A Citrus Bath?

Citrus bath soaks are a popular winter tradition. I learned taking a citrus bath in The Land Of The Rising Sun, on the winter solstice holds a special place in Japanese culture.

It doesn’t take an astronomical event to have a reason to soak in a cheerful, revitalizing citrus bath. I’ve been making homemade bath salts for years and there are plenty of reasons to give a go!

Citrus Bath Soak Benefits:

  • Citrus scents are energizing and uplifting to our emotions, which can release stress.
  • Natural citric acid helps slough away dead skin cells without exfoliation.
  • Fresh citrus fruits themselves have long been a sign of abundance. You may find yourself releasing a scarcity mindset while immersed in a citrus soak.
  • Natural antioxidants present in citrus can boost your immunity and nourish the skin with softening properties.

I’ll show you how to create homemade bath salts with citrus essential oils to detoxify and invigorate! An ideal recipe to feel refreshed when we need it most.

What Citrus Essential Oils Are Good For Bath Salts?

The options may be plentiful, but it’s important to note that for skin care, it’s recommended to select oils that are gentle and suitable for topical use. That’s why I selected this blend of citrus essential oils, balanced by botanical notes for these homemade bath salts!

This unique apple-like citrus oil is both uplifting and soothing, promoting a positive mood and relaxation in the bath.
